A Sanctuary for Nature and Stargazers

Spring brings warm days, bright greens, and flashes of colorful wildflowers, birds, and butterflies. As ocean breezes wind through the oak branches, you'll enjoy cool evenings around a roaring fire beneath dark skies streaming with planets and galaxies. Our location in one of the globally important migratory bird routes means wildlife watching opportunities abound.

Whether you use our site as a home base for exploring nearby attractions like Pinnacles National Park (40 minutes away), Mercy Hot Springs (13 miles), or coastal destinations like Monterey and Carmel, or simply relax under the ancient oaks, this is a place to regain your balance. Arrive with your cares; leave clear and regenerated.

Song of the Ancients: Our Campsites

We offer four spacious, oak-shaded campsites, each with its own character and abundant space for privacy:

  • Site 1: Bobcat - The most shaded site, tucked under magnificent oaks with mountain and meadow views. Perfect for those seeking extra protection from the sun while still enjoying stargazing from the nearby hill.

  • Site 2: Pumas - Spacious with ample shade from oak trees and open areas for sunning. Spectacular night sky views and uplifting meadow and mountain vistas.

  • Site 3: Coyotes - Our most private site at the end of the road, offering spectacular dark sky views. Features a small round hill for tent placement and gathering. Ideal for larger groups with a spacious fire pit area.

  • Site 4: Ravens - Closest to facilities with expansive views of dark skies, meadows, and mountains. Plenty of trees for shade and hammocks, plus a large meadow for night sky viewing.

  • What Campers Say

“We had a wonderful time camping here. We brought our two young sons and they loved it. The 'volcano' and all the critters were huge hit! Veronica was so kind and had such great knowledge about the land and all the critters as well. We loved how private the site was but also how easy it was to walk to the bathroom, shower and water. The oaks gave us some nice shade during the day, the views over the meadows were stunning and the stars at night really were breathtaking. We cannot wait to come back again!”

  • What Campers Say

“Even though I only camped 1 out of the two days due to clouds on the first night, I enjoyed my stay under the dark sky and took advantage of it to do some more astrophotography. Spotted a fox a few miles before getting to the site and a family of deer the next morning when I was leaving, so that was great!”

    - Loizos V.

  • What Campers Say

“I had a nice weekend camping on Veronica's land. The site number 3 was private, there was a nice small hill to pitch my tent on, and the starry night sky was great. I had my telescope with me, and this was a good place for doing astrophotography, no light pollution. And Pinnacles national park is nearby and a great place to do some hiking daytime!”

Camping With Purpose

When you camp at Wildfarmers, you're doing more than enjoying a weekend in nature—you're directly supporting our mission to save California's vanishing blue oak woodlands.

Your camping fees help fund our active restoration work, including:

  • Increasing blue oak sapling survival by 400%

  • Expanding year-round water sources for wildlife

  • Conducting prescribed burns to restore native habitat

  • Propagating indigenous plants critical for pollinators

By experiencing these ancient trees firsthand, you become part of a growing community of advocates who understand what's at stake. Many of our most dedicated volunteers and supporters first connected with our work through camping beneath our majestic oaks.

Pitch your tent amid the ancient Blue Oaks of California. Warm yourself by your campfire as you drink in the dark skies. Shake the dust off your work-worn spirit and let the celebration begin. It's time to take time—to play and enjoy with friends and family in a place where you can bask in opulent starlight and absorb the sounds of darkness.
